GET INVOLVED

America’s debt and deficits won’t be solved unless regular citizens (like you!) get involved. That’s why Long Term America is building a nationwide network of volunteers who want to make change. If a crisis comes because of our debt and deficits and all you had done was complain, how will you feel?

Please review the three opportunities below and contact us at info@longtermamerica.com to make a difference. We need your help!

Wanted: Volunteer Leaders

Our goal: one Long Term America Volunteer Leader in every U.S. Congressional District.

There are 435 voting U.S. House districts. We would like at least one leader to represent each district. If enough people step up, we have a great chance at making change. The ideal volunteer cares about the future of our country, is willing to do something about it, and communicates well. We provide the information, materials, and support to help you succeed and have a great experience. There are many ways for you to make an impact, and you decide what works best for your schedule, your skills, and your preferences.

Activities might include:

  • Speaking to community and civic groups.
  • Meeting with your member of Congress.
  • Organizing email and letter-writing campaigns.
  • Getting local schools and students involved.
  • Working with organizations that share related goals.
  • Developing your own ideas for building awareness and involvement.

You know your community. We give you the tools; you decide what will work best.

Wanted: High School Teachers

Help the next generation understand the fiscal choices they will inherit.

Long Term America provides teaching materials that help students understand the federal debt and deficit while developing critical-thinking and debate skills. We can even personalize materials for your classroom.

Students can examine competing approaches to fiscal policy, debate the trade-offs, develop their own views, and communicate their concerns and ideas to their elected representatives.

Wanted: College Student Interns

Build leadership experience while working on an issue that will shape your generation’s future.

As a Long Term America volunteer intern, you can organize students on your campus, work with other student organizations, and build support for greater fiscal discipline in Washington. The stakes are high because if we don’t do something about our debt and deficits, college-aged citizens will have a much less favorable future and fewer options.

We provide materials, opportunities to connect with students and volunteers around the country, and one-on-one support when needed. Make a meaningful impact and we’ll also provide a strong recommendation letter documenting your contribution.

This can be especially valuable for pre-law students and anyone looking to demonstrate leadership, organizing, communication, and civic engagement.
